J.J. Nearing Catholic Elementary School Kindergarten Program Information
At J.J. Nearing Catholic Elementary School, our Kindergarten program is thoughtfully designed to inspire young learners and nurture their academic, social, and spiritual growth. We offer a variety of options to meet the unique needs of your family:
- Half-Day Program: 475 hours of instruction, available in the morning or afternoon.
- Full-Day Everyday Program: 950 hours of instruction (offered based on registration numbers).
- Progressive Program: Half-day instruction until Spring Break, transitioning to full-day instruction from Spring Break to the end of June.

- Kinder-Cooking to encourage hands-on learning and collaboration.
- A supportive Home Reading Program to build foundational literacy skills.
- Exciting Field Trips for experiential learning and exploration.
- Parish Connections through priest visits and liturgical celebrations to deepen faith.
Age Eligibility
Children must be 5 years old by December 31 to enroll.
Fees
- Half-Day Program: No fee.
- Full-Day Program: $325/month + lunch supervision fee.
- Progressive Program: (Not always offered) $97.50/month (Sept–March) and $325/month (April–June) + lunch supervision fee.
Note: Program offerings are contingent on enrollment and available resources.

- AM & Full Day Entry Bell: 8:40 am
- AM Dismissal: 11:37 am
- Full Day Dismissal: 3:20 pm

Child Care
We currently have an agreement with SIGIS to provide child care at J.J. Nearing. They provide half-day childcare for our kindergarten students and before- and after-school care for kindergarten to grade 6 students. More information on their programs can be found on the SIGIS website.
