Kindergarten Program Information
Our regular half day Kindergarten program offers 475 hours of instruction in the morning or afternoon. We also offer a Full Day Everyday program with 950 hours of instruction.

AGE
***Children must be 5 yrs of age by Dec. 31/2023 to enrol.*** Click on the "Kindergarten Age Eligibility Calculator" to receive more information and to aid you in determining whether your child is old enough to attend kindergarten.
ECS FEES
- HALF DAY - No fee
- FULL DAY - $325/month + lunch supervision and special event fee ($40). Children enrolled in Full Day programming attend school for the full day.
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION
The school office and/or school staff will contact you about a having your child come in for an hour in Kindergarten for an orientation sometime during the last week of June.
1st DAY of SCHOOL STAGGERED START
Your child will attend on ONE of the staggered start day in late August or early September. Your child’s first day of school will be provided at the end of June.
2023/24 BELL TIMES:
- AM & Full Day Entry Bell: 8:40 am
- AM Dismissal: 11:37 am
- Full Day Dismissal: 3:20 pm
** The offering of Half Day PM, and Full Day is dependant upon enrolment and resources**
2023/24 Kindergarten SUPPLY LIST:
- 1 large backpack
- 1 lunch bag
- 1 pair of indoor running shoes (non-marking soles)
- 1 full change of clothes that can be left at school
Child Care
We currently have an agreement with SIGIS to provide child care at J Nearing. They provide half day childcare for our kindergarten students and before and after school care for Kinder to Grade 6 students. More information on their programs can be found at the SIGIS website.
